The Command
“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9)
What It Means
Jesus gives three commands in a row: ask, seek, knock. Each one comes with a promise attached. In the verses that follow, he compares God to a father who gives good gifts to his children, so we can ask with confidence.
Try It Today
Bring one specific request to God today. Don’t stop at one try. Keep asking through the day.
Tonight’s Prayer
Father, I brought you [name the request] today. Thank you for listening. Give me the patience to keep asking and the trust to wait. Amen.
